In addition to its extensive range of courses, the Language Center of the University of Vienna also offers examinations. Within the framework of German courses, learners can take the ÖSD examination (Austrian Language Certificate ÖSD – Österreichisches Sprachdiplom Deutsch – levels A1 to C2).
As part of the foreign language services offered, clients can choose between the following examinations: language competency examinations (e.g. for Erasmus) and the university entrance qualification examination for English.
Additionally, the Language Center offers preparatory courses for the Latin Supplementary Examination at the University of Vienna and the IELTS exam in English (International English Language Testing System).While the Language Center organises these preparation courses, the examinations are not part of the course.

ÖSD-EXAMS
Austrian Language Certificate ÖSD [österreichisches Sprachdiplom Deutsch] examinations can be taken at the Language Center four times a year (in November, January, April and July). If necessary, further dates will be offered. Registration for the ÖSD examination can be carried out directlythrough our website (minimum age: 16).

If you would like to study at the University of Vienna and you did not learn Latin (sufficiently) at school, you may have to take the Latin Supplementary Exam.
With the help of our Latin Course you can prepare for the exam quickly and efficiently.

Preparation Courses for English: IELTS
If you want to study or work in an international environment or abroad, evidence of excellent English skills is often required.
The Language Center of the University of Vienna offers a preparation course for the IELTS exam. IELTS stands for International English Language Testing.

University Entrance Qualification Examination for English
The prerequisite for taking this examination is a letter of admission [Zulassungsbescheid] issued by the University of Vienna. The Language Center organises the University Entrance Qualification Examination for English four times a year.
